Hospital bleeding control trauma

Trauma

Bleeding control and uncontrolled hemorrhage from gun shot wounds, stab wounds and blast injuries

Trauma is a life threatening injury or event that causes serious injury to the body.  Trauma centers throughout the country, whether Level 1 or Level IV, are required to maintain surgically directed critical care services to treat these life threatening injuries.

When it comes to bleeding control, uncontrolled hemorrhage from gun shot wounds, stab wounds and blast injuries can lead to death within minutes.  In an environment where every minute counts in an effort to reduce blood loss and save lives, our advanced hemostatic agents can help maintain rapid control of bleeding. Our proprietary granule technology has even been proven effective in the presence of common anticoagulants.

Emergency Room

Emergency physicians face the unique challenge of treating a diverse patient population whose individual care requires a vast breadth of knowledge across the spectrum of emergency medicine.

The specific wounds vary considerably as do the patient characteristics with many patients using anticoagulant drugs. For patients presenting with bleeding wounds, the variety of presentations and varying degrees of severity offers numerous challenges in terms of achieving hemostasis.

OMNI-STAT® is a topical temporary external hemostat that helps rapidly and safely stop bleeding. It is effective for patients using common anticoagulant drugs (Millner, 2010, Koksal, 2011 & Data on file). Rapid hemostasis may allow for shorter patient length of stay and better management of valuable staff resources by reducing blood loss and any associated risks.

Controlling bleeding with a surgical hemostat is quick and efficient and helps minimise blood loss and allows more efficient use of operating room time (Journal of Woundcare). Many common wounds like necrotic and chronic wounds requiring particularly aggressive post sharp debridement require a fast acting surgical hemostat like OMNI-STAT®.

OMNI-STAT® is a topical temporary external hemostat that helps rapidly and safely stop bleeding. It is effective for patients using common anti-coagulant drugs (Millner, 2010, Koksal, 2011 & Data on file).
